In Kalliston we contribute to the environmental awareness of our guests by:

Participating at the “clean up the med” program organized in cooperation with the NGO MED SOS.

Organizing the “clean up the sea bottom” activity.

Dedicating one day of the week, the “Green Day”, to the environment and the environmental awareness and organizing recreation activities for young guests and children (energy saving, recycling, adopting a plant).

Supporting the protection of endangered species (sea turtle Caretta-caretta).

Celebrating the World Environment Day (5th June).
In Kalliston we save energy, water and manage our waste following the three principles (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) by:

Applying Water Saving methods.
- Water flow regulators in bathrooms.
- Computerised garden irrigation.
- Adopting Waste Management systems.

Recycling (paper, plastic, glass, aluminium, batteries, old electronic equipment and electric appliances, used light bulbs, used cooking oil, ink and toner cartridges). |
Our eco results
In 2008 we recycled:
• 6,1 tons paper • 1,4 tons plastic • 6,6 tons glass • 2,1 tons aluminium • 370 kg used cooking oils
In 2008 Kalliston reduced its environmental impact compared to 2007 and managed to achieve:
- Reduction in water consumption 5%
- Reduction in the usage of water/pool chemicals 4%
- Reduction in the usage of cleaning chemicals 3%
- Reduction in the usage of electric energy 2%
- Reduction in consumption of liquid gas 16%
- Reduction in the oil consumption 4%
