MEAL PLANS
Pablo Picasso drew himself as a Minotaur, the mythical half-man half-taurus (bull) creature that lived in the Labyrinth of the palace of Knossos, the most prominent archaeological site in Crete, just a few kilometres away from Amirandes. An amazing collection of rare original Picasso ceramics adorns the “Minotaur” restaurant at Amirandes since 2013, inspired by the artist’s admiration of the mythical Cretan creature. The distinctive ceramic works showcased at “Minotaur” belong to Picasso’s exceptional Madoura collection, pointing out the place they were made, the Madoura Pottery in Vallauris, France. Sculptural vases, pitchers in pristine condition encapsulate the essence of his impressive ceramic output, as he was renowned as a Painter and Sculptor in Clay.
At “Minotaur” the dining experience stays true to the genuine artistic flair and striking character of its surroundings. Located by the lagoon, “Minotaur” offers an impeccable setting and exceptional Italian gastronomy accompanied by indulging wine pairings. For an unforgettable enchanting idyll, choose to dine outside by the star-studded lagoon with an imaginative international menu immersed in its spectacular waterfront setting.
