What is the weather like in Crete?

Crete enjoys an average of 300 days of sunshine each year. The climate of Crete is Mediterranean, with mild winters and hot, sunny summers. The daily average temperature ranges from 11 °C (52 °F) in January to 26 °C (79 °F) in August.
In spring, the weather is very pleasant with an average temperature between 16°C (61 °F) and 23°C (73°F), with a low chance of rainfall.
From June to August, it almost never rains and the weather is very warm. The sea is nicely warm with the average temperature reaching 30°C (86 °F), especially in July and August. Nevertheless, the heat is often relieved by the cooling “Meltemia” winds, which blow in from the north or northwest.
In September and October it is generally warm and sunny, with comfortable temperatures for outdoor activities. The average temperature is 22°C (72 °F) and the sea remains warm, making it perfect for water activities. Some evenings can be cooler, and there can be occasional rainfall (particularly in October)

What is the payment and cancellation policy of the resort?

Pre-payment is required to guarantee reservations. How far ahead the payment is required and how far ahead you can cancel the reservation free of charge will depend on your stay dates and the offer under which you have booked.

 

How do I pay for my reservation?

Once your reservation is complete, the reservations team will send you a secure online payment link through which you can settle the payment via your credit card. Alternatively, we do accept bank transfers as well.

 

What are the payment methods?

Credit card, debit card, and cash payments are accepted. For credit cards, we accept VISA, American Express, MasterCard, Union Pay, Discover, JCB, and Diners Club. Guests must present the same credit card used for the booking, along with a photo ID or passport of the cardholder, upon check-in at the hotel.

Please note, according to legislation, partial or full settlement of invoices exceeding €500 in cash is prohibited. All payments exceeding this amount must be made by credit or debit card, or via bank transfer.

What is the standard mode of Airport transfer to Grecotel Marine Palace & Aqua Park?

The hotel organizes private transfers for Arrival & Departure, from and to the Heraklion or the Chania International Airport. The journey to access the resort is approximately 55-minutes from the Heraklion airport and 1 hour and 25 minutes from the Chania airport. (extra charge applies).

 

What types of vehicles are used for the airport transfers?

Our Luxury Transfers are private or semi-private according to the reservation terms.

  • Shuttle bus service to Rethymno Town every 30 minutes or every 1 hour, the schedule is based on seasonality.

Children below 12 years can dine for free at the Tasty Corner Lunch from 12:30-14:00.All restaurants have available Kids Menus. Children aged over 12 years old are considered as adults.

 

Do you have Baby food meal plan?

0-1 toddlers will have arranged their baby food as you wish. Please contact the Restaurant Manager or the Guest Relation Manager to order in advance. Our staff is happy to lend a hand with warming baby bottles or baby food.

 

How many restaurants does Grecotel Marine Palace & Aqua Park have?

A rich experience with its focus on delicious ,fresh and unpretentious food. The meal plan is on an All-Inclusive basis for a worry-free holiday! Twelve food & beverage outlets, 6 restaurants & 6 bars, for one of a kind experience.

Is there any dress-code for the Restaurants?

Daytime: Resort Casual. Cover-ups are required for breakfast and lunch: Footwear is required in restaurants & bars at all times. Evening: Smart Casual. No beachwear or shorts in the evening .Gentlemen-long trousers and shirts with sleeves (short or long) are required in all the restaurants & bars.

 

Can we arrange a Private Dinner?

We can arrange Private Dinners in different picturesque locations and with beautiful set-ups.

 

What is implemented in your hotel in terms of dietary requirements ( allergies, intolerances, vegetarian & vegan menus)?

We do take special care of our guests with any food allergies as we recognize the importance of the issue. In our hotel you will find a variety of options. Whenever a guest who needs dietary guidance arrives at our hotel and informs us accordingly, we propose a meeting with our Chef, who is there to give all the information about the food, so there will be no reason to be concerned. Also, there are proper descriptions and indications/labels on all our foods.
Our Guest Services Team will be happy to arrange a meeting with the Chef upon arrival as well as help you with anything else you may.

 

Ηow many restaurants are we entitled to visit during our stay?

In a weekly reservation you are entitled to visit one a la carte restaurant. However, there is the possibility to visit more with an additional charge.

What should I have with me upon the check in?

Your ID card or Passport and the credit card you have used to book your reservation.

 

Is it possible to enter my room prior to check-in?

If the room is unoccupied, the hotel may approve earlier entrance. However, if you are planning to arrive early in the morning and you want to ensure that the room is ready, we suggest that you book an additional overnight prior to your arrival.

 

May I use the Hotel’s Facilities before my check-in or after my check-out?

All the Hotel’s Facilities are available to be used from the time you arrive in the hotel till the time you depart regardless the time you check out of the room. ( All-inclusive package ends at 5 p.m. on the departure day)

 

If I arrive before my check-in time, can I drop my bag somewhere?

Marine Palace & Aqua Park provides you a luggage room where you can store your luggage. Also provides lockers for the values with extra fee.

 

Is it possible to have a confirmed late check out?

A day before your departure a late check-out may be confirmed at reception. There are different options with applicable charges to choose from according to the availability the resort shall have. However, if you are planning to depart rather late and you want to ensure that the room would be possible to be kept, we suggest that you book in advance an overnight with your reservation.

 

Can you confirm a certain room number or location?

A request can be made once the reservation is confirmed. We shall do our utmost to accommodate the request as per availability, but no confirmation is possible.

 

What is the environmental tax am I obligated to pay it?

An environmental fee, defined as Climate Crisis Resilience Fee, of €10,00 per room per night is applicable by law, payable by the guest directly at the hotel upon check out.

 

Are there coffee or tea facilities in the room?

All rooms are equipped with Tea & Coffee Facilities, ( daily replenishment of instant coffee and tea).Let us know if you wish to have fresh milk or tea.

 

Does the hotel provide Iron & Ironing board in the room?

Iron and ironing boards are available for our guests on request and can be delivered in their room for a limited length of time.
Ironing Service is also available with an extra charge.

 

Is there a safety deposit box in the room?

All room types offer a safety deposit box.

Are pets allowed in the hotel?

Small pets (dogs) up to 8kg are permitted in certain accommodation with their own private garden. Terms and conditions are applied the resort must be contacted in advance.

 

Do I have to bring my own Beach towels?

No, upon your arrival you will find beach towels in your room and then you can change them to our beach towel station free of charge.

 

How often are the bed sheets and towels changed?

Implementing measures of natural resources management with the aim of improving the local environment. However, in case you want them to be changed daily, you may place the designated label in the room.

Do we have to book the spa in advance?

It is recommended to book Elixir Beauty Spa treatments in advance in order to guarantee the preferred timing.

 

Do you have a Sauna, do I have to book?

We do have 2 sauna rooms in our Elixir Spa, our staff will be happy to assist you with the reservation.

 

Do you have Male Therapists?

We do have Male therapists at Elixir Beauty Spa.

 

Do you have a Gym?

The resort offers two very well-equipped gyms. The first is located on an indoor space and the second is outdoor, overlooking the sea.

 

Do you have a medical facility in the town?

We do have a public hospital, a medical center, along with an assigned 24/7 on call Resort doctor.

 

Is there a doctor at the resort?

A nurse is on the hotel premises every day from 10:00 to 17:00.If deemed necessary the doctor may visit the guest at the resort.(charges apply).

KIDS CLUB

Do you have a kid’s club?

We have a very well-equipped children’s creative and educational facility called Grecoland.

 

What age is allowed in the kid’s club?

Children between ages of 04 – 12 years old will have complimentary access to the Grecoland kids club. Children who are 3-years old and below will also have access to the Grecoland kids club with the presence of a parent or a guardian. Alternatively, babysitting service can be booked for children who are 3-years old and below.

 

Is it possible to book babysitting service?

Babysitting service can be booked with the below prices and terms and conditions.
Prices
1 child: Normal hours (8am – 22:00 pm): € 35 per hour
Extended hours (22:00pm – 8:00am): € 40 per hour
2 children: Normal hours (8am – 22:00 pm): € 60 per hour
Extended hours (22:00pm – 8:00am): € 65 per hour

Guests are required to book baby-sitting services 24-hours in advance, and they may do so via the Guest Services Team.
All bookings are for a minimum of 1 hour and follow with 1-hour increments. For example, if the babysitting lasts for 1.30hrs the guest will be charged for 2 hrs.
Babysitting sessions should not exceed four hours.
Rates and taxes are subject to change without prior notice.
The babysitter is chosen on best availability. We are not able to guarantee any specific requests such as gender, language or a specific Teammate. Teammates from Grecoland are available for babysitting duties outside of operational hours.

 

 

 

ACTIVITIES

What Types of Water Sports Activities do you have?

We do have both non-motorized as well as motorized Water Sports activities.
With our Atlantis Watersports Center, you can learn water-skiing and wakeboard, bottom canoes, SUP, pedaloes, space buggies, feet the fish by playing biodegradable mini golf or have fun on the coast with banana, u-slider and rings, or go extreme with parasailing and e-foil.

Do we have to pre-book Watersports or any Excursions?

We recommend to book Excursions a week prior to the arrival date to ensure availability. Soon after your arrival will also be possible to explore options and suggestions with our concierge team. As for the watersports no pre-booking is required.

 

Do you arrange excursion boat trips?

We can arrange different types of boat trips to enjoy the sea and secluded beaches of the Cretan shore, snorkeling excursions, sunset cruises, fishing etc.

 

Is the aqua park entry free of charge?

Yes, all activities at aqua park are free of charge.

 

Is it possible to use aqua park facilities without room reservation?

Yes, the Aqua Park is available for non-guests that have bought the Day Pass and always according to availability. A reservation is required prior arrival through our reservations department:[email protected]

 

Are there any restrictions for the waterslides?

Our mega Aqua Park ,Kingdom of Poseidon, is consisted by two parts: The smaller part ,Aqua Tower, with water slides ideal for younger kids (1<years old) and the bigger part ,Poseidon Tower ,which is beloved from older kids, with heigh over 1.20m ,and adults. Parental supervision is required for children up to 12 years old to use the Aqua Park premises.

 

Is the aqua park heated?

The Aqua Park supports normal water flow, which is not heated but is constantly recycled according to our Health and Safety protocols.
